Making A Complaint
Members may submit a letter to the Institute explaining the type of complaint to be filed against a member regarding any of the following:
- Breach of the Institute's Code of Ethics
- Misrepresentation of titles, designations, qualifications, etc..
- Professional Misconduct constituting unethical behavior, conflict of interest, negligence, etc..
- Breach of the Professional Engineer's Act
- Breach of any of the Canadian Council of Professional Engineer's family of trademarked designations/abbreviations
- Use of unlawful designations that constitutes a breach of the ICTPC's Code of Ethics and the Professional Engineer's Act
Before making a complaint against a member, one must be certain, beyond reasonable doubt that, such a breach is warranted. Documents supporting your complaint must accompany your letter. False accusations against any member of the Institute of Chartered Technical Practitioners of Canada may result in severe penalties and possible litigations against the plaintiff.

Please Note: In your 'Letter of Complaint' you must include the following information:
- Name of Reporting Member
- Membership Number of the Reporting Member
- Name of the individual Accused
- Membership Number of the Accused
- Type of Complaint/Infraction
- Description of Complaint/Incident
- Place and date of incident
