Upgrading / Certification of Past Members of the ICEC:

Admission requirements for the category of Chartered Technical Practitioner having the designation of ChTP do not all apply to present members of the ICTPC who held membership in the ICEC as "Member" [MChE] or "Senior Member" [SMChE] designations.

However, under the current standards of admission, ICTPC members who held any of the above designations in the ICEC and who wish to be upgraded to that of Chartered Technical Practitioner must be cognizant of some of the basic requirements.

In order to comply with the statutes and by-laws of the Institute, it may be necessary for some applicants (current members) to provide the Examination Committee (EC) with the following:

a) Technical Report from his/her Practical Experience

OR

b) Write an Academic Examination set by the EC to ensure competence in the chosen field of knowledge and expertise.

Even though the upgrading candidates will be evaluated on a one-to-one basis, the Examination Committee is the sole determinant whether such candidate has acquired the necessary academic / experience requirements to meet the standards of the Chartered Technical Practitioner's status.
