Student Member

All students applying for membership in the ICTPC, prior to graduation, must be prepared to:

  1. Abide by and follow the Institute's "Code of Ethics" and in general Be of Good Character.
  2. Remain a member in good standing with the Institute by the prompt and timely payment of the designated fees/dues.
  3. Be proficient in the English and or French languages, or approved ESL Equivalent Program.
  4. Agree to maintain continuous self-improvement in their field through courses in his / her specialized fields of study.
  5. Where possible, specify their discipline of registration, and area of study.
  6. Each candidate shall have a minimum of 2 approved "Sponsors" who have worked directly with the student candidate, and can verify the individual's work ethics and experience gained and the desire for continuous improvement. The sponsor must vouch for the students ethical conduct and general attitude. Sponsors can be teachers, lecturers, professors and tutors. It is preferred that such Sponsors hold titles such as P.Eng., ing., CET, PE., or approved ChTP, TecP, or an acceptable accredited title of responsibility.
  7. Student members must apply to become Associate Technical Practitioners within 1 year of the date of acceptance into the Institute.
Student Member - Examination Fees (where & if applicable)

Candidates who are eligible for admission into the Student Membership category will be assessed on a one-to-one basis. However, All New Candidates who have been accepted, as Student Members MUST Write and Pass the Institute's Ethics Examination, unless one has an Acceptable Ethics Examination Exemption from other accredited institutions/associations. Where and if applicable, the following fee schedules apply:

One time Application Fee is applicable$ 40.00 Cdn.
ICEC's Ethics 101 Examination$ 150.00 Cdn.

Applicable Fees are payable at time of application and are NONREFUNDABLE. lease remit by personalcheque, Certified Cheque, Money Order or Money Gram made payable to the Institute of Chartered Technical Practitioners of Canada. Cash or credit card will not be accepted.

IMPORTANT NOTES: These fees are valid only for Upgrading and New Applicants/Candidates. Applicants/Candidates will be provided a set of guidelines for writing a successful paper.
